The Chronicle of Philanthropy has published an op-ed piece strongly criticizing charity watchdog Charity Navigator. Doug White, a professor of ethics and fundraising at Columbia University and a long time advisor to charities and philanthropists, lambasted the organization for its irresponsible tactics in the wake of recent “damaging investigative reports” at CBS and the New York Times. Mr. White described the Charity Navigator website as “full of meaningless statistics, disguised — or promoted — as relevant data under the illusion of helping donors support solutions to the world’s persistent challenges.” Read the piece in its entirety here:
